本草木塔は、文政6年（1823）8月の建立で、現在は市道（赤道）内に所在している。
石塔は塔頂部が西側に傾いたような楕円形状を示しており、中央に細身で大きく「草木塔」と刻まれ、向かって右側面に「文政6年未年8月」と建立年月が銘記されている。
近くには他に2基の石塔が建立されており、うち観世音は草木塔と同じ建立年月であることから、関連性があると思われる。
また、対面する地蔵堂は女性信者が主体となって祭祀を行っており、草木塔と地蔵講との関わりについても窺うことができる。
No.11 Shimonakahara SOMOKUTO (AD 1823)
This SOMOKUTO was erected in August AD 1823 and is currently located within a municipal road area.
The stone has an oval-shaped form, with its top leaning slightly toward the west.
At the center is engraved “SOMOKUTO” in slender but prominent characters. On the right side is inscribed “August 1823, Year of the Sheep,” indicating the date of construction.
Nearby stand two other stone monuments. One of them, a Kannon statue, was erected in the same year and month as this SOMOKUTO, suggesting a close relationship.
Across the road stands a Jizō Hall where rituals are mainly conducted by female worshippers. This indicates a close connection between this SOMOKUTO and the Jizō devotional association.
